What are the pricing models available for advertising on Hotstar?
The following pricing models are available for advertising on Hotstar:
Video ads: Video ads on hotstar are available at cost-per-1000 impressions (CPM) or cost-per-completed-views (CPCV). Pricing depends on the level of targeting chosen. The lowest base price is for targeting all audiences watching any videos, with upcharges for sharper targeting. Pricing is defined for 10 seconds and prorated basis video commercial length.
Ads are not biddable; impressions or views are computed based on budget and targeting and then delivered over the chosen campaign period.
CPM: Ad impression counted when ad starts playing in the app or browser
CPCV: View counted when ad completes, irrespective of ad length
Hotstar has very high ad completion rates: over 90% for video ads upto 30 seconds and over 85% for video ads upto 60 seconds. Either CPM or CPCV can work well for an advertiser depending on the objective and budget.
Display ads: Display ads are available at cost-per-1000 impressions (CPM) or cost per click (CPC).
