What is a Pre-Roll ad?

A pre-roll ad on Hotstar is a 6-10 second non-skippable video ad that automatically plays before the video stream starts, on both mobile and desktop.

The maximum duration of a pre-roll ad will depend on the objective chosen by you.

  1. Brand awareness and traffic objective - up to 6 seconds 
  2. Impact objective - up to 10 seconds

How will I be charged?

You will be charged at cost-per-1000 impressions (CPM) or cost-per-completed-views (CPCV). 

  1. CPM: Ad impression counted when ad starts playing in the app or browser
  2. CPCV: View counted when ad completes, irrespective of ad length
